Kitty Kinnin

Kitty has proven herself a favorite to listeners (& viewers) across the state with her unique voice, sense of style and wit –She was one of the first female rock jocks in NC while channeling her love of all genres of music with her longtime Sunday Brunch.  Van Eure, owner of The Angus Barn in Raleigh – “Kitty Kinnin’s ability to promote, inspire, and educate truly makes her one of the most respected and admired radio hosts in the industry.  She has the unique ability to affect a project’s success in a way that is seamless and extremely enjoyable for the client & listener.  I PROUDLY recommend her!”

Kitty is considered a connoisseur of all things music and food & has interviewed some of the top culinary & musical talents in the world.  In fact, the concept of Sound Palate came to life when Kitty began asking chefs to pair a signature dish with a piece of music.  Having been married to a chef, Kitty recognized the passion chefs have for music & vice versa.  Sound Palate will offer listeners an inside look into the kitchens & minds of the best local & national culinary stars while feasting on diverse, often little-known music from around the world – Robert Johnson, Buena Vista Music Club, Delta Rae, Joe Bonnamassa, & Beth Hart, Billie Holiday, Gov’t Mule, Jobim, Leonard Cohen, Buddy Guy, Parliament Funkadelic, Buju Banton, Portishead. “The Penguin is excited to have Kitty who is a radio legend with a musical palate as eclectic as The Penguin.  We couldn’t be more excited.”, says WUIN GM, Beau Gunn.

“Musically, this will be an extension of my Sunday Brunch.  I go by gut, not charts.  From Mingus to Metallica”!  With Kitty, “It’s all in the mix”!

Kitty’s focus will be music & culinary served with lifestyle features – travel, books, film, fashion & edgy humor; i.e., “Sound Sip with Kitty & Ziggy” pairs music with libations. “What’s Up Chip” is a concoction of “randomness” & “Eat Your Words” with Sheri Castle. She will also continue her community outreach touching on area

Sound Palate will be an interactive experience & available to listeners across the state and beyond live, through streaming and podcasts.  Sound Palate is powered by Vendto, whose CEO, Chip Venters, says “We are thrilled to be a part of Kitty’s return to radio on the Penguin. Her listeners are smart and sophisticated – a great audience for us and our clients.”

Kitty hopes to take her show on the road to other “tasty” hotspots around the country and will customize each show to feature local flavor for each market.
